This is one of their vacation club properties, but I was able to make a reservation through the Marriott site.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_151\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-151\" class=\"wp-image-151 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/towandalong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/LasVegasHotelView_MarriottChateau-scaled-e1588970083409.jpg\" alt=\"Las Vegas strip view from Marriott Chateau hotel family friendly\" width=\"600\" height=\"410\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-151\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>View of Las Vegas strip from our room<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Grand Chateau was the perfect location for our family. It was a two-minute walk to the strip, but it felt like less. We had a view of the strip, but there was little traffic in front of the hotel. I also liked that there were no casinos in the lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable, what we expected from a Marriott property.<\/p>\n<p>One of my girls was celebrating her birthday and the staff made sure to tell her happy birthday when they saw her. She also got special treats at the cafe. I would definitely stay here again.<\/p>\n<p>After a few nights we moved to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mgmresorts.com\/en\/hotels\/las-vegas\/mgm-grand.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MGM Grand<\/a>\u00a0to get a feel for a Vegas strip hotel. The MGM Grand is a great hotel and our room was pretty. As the name suggests it is grand. Multiple places to eat, catch a show and gamble. If we were traveling as a couple I would have listed this first. But for our family the Marriott felt better. At MGM Grand it was very busy (as you\u2019d expect) and it lacked the comfort we had experienced the night before.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing to note. If you go when it\u2019s VERY HOT, it may be hard to find an unoccupied spot in the pool. We finally found one, but there were no covered lounge chairs available. This is usually not a big deal, but when it\u2019s 110 degrees laying on a chair without shade is not a good option.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What we did:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The infamous Vegas strip is mostly family friendly during the day. We watched the fountains dance at <a href=\"https:\/\/bellagio.mgmresorts.com\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Bellagio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We strolled through the Bellagio Conservatory &amp; Botanical Garden. Beautiful flowers and air conditioning?! Yes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_152\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-152\" class=\"wp-image-152 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/towandalong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BellagioConservatory_FamilyFunLasVegas-scaled-e1588970377156.jpg\" alt=\"Sculpture at Bellagio Conservatory Family trip to Las Vegas\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-152\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em> One of many beautiful horticultural sculptures<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>We did a day trip to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon with the tour company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandcanyondestinations.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grand Canyon Destinations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_157\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-157\" class=\"wp-image-157 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/towandalong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/GrandCanyon2019-scaled-e1588971572472.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"309\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-157\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>At the end of our guided Grand Canyon walk<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>If you\u2019re planning this trip look online for discounts. I found a good deal via Facebook for their south rim bus tour.<\/p>\n<p>On the way we stopped on Route 66.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-155 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/towandalong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Route66-scaled-e1588971102260.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We visited the M&amp;M and Hershey\u2019s stores\/experiences. We are a chocolate-loving family so both of these were pure joy. M&amp;M also has a cute 4D movie experience.<\/p>\n<p>And we had to take photos at the infamous Las Vegas sign.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-153 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/towandalong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Las-Vegas-Family-Trip-2019-scaled-e1588970838189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If your kids are tall enough, do <a href=\"https:\/\/newyorknewyork.mgmresorts.com\/en\/entertainment\/the-big-apple-coaster-and-arcade.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Big Apple Coaster<\/a> in the New York New York hotel. My youngest was disappointed that she didn\u2019t quite meet the height requirement. It\u2019s a must on our next trip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we ate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of our favorite meals was Nacho Daddy.
