We pulled up to the community entrance and gave our name to the security guard. When he opened the stately gate we were greeted with massive tropical trees and perfectly manicured landscaping. This palm grove community of luxury homes, Jack Nicklaus golf courses and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort screams vacation.

We made our way to the St. Regis, paying careful attention to the signs and looking out for golf carts. Upon arrival we were greeted with fruit-infused water, and shown to the reception area.

After checking in, we were walked to our room and given a brief tour of the grounds. The grounds are GORGEOUS! Lots of flowers, greenery and lushness.

We absolutely loved our deluxe king room. I went straight for the sunbed on the terrace, while Hubby checked out the rest of the room.

As you would expect of a St. Regis, the room was plush, comfortable and luxurious. As much as I loved everything about the room, my absolute favorite part was the outdoor shower! I showered outside every day, just because.

Since we were visiting Punta Mita for a wedding at a nearby resort, we wanted our days to be full of relaxation and rejuvenation. St. Regis was just that! We only ventured off the grounds to attend the wedding. Otherwise, everything we needed was right there.

For breakfast we did the buffet at Sea Breeze. This was not your average buffet. The cook-to-order and ready-to-eat options seemed endless. Everything from omelets to pastries to Mexican-inspired dishes were included.

Mita Mary Bistro Boat was a good lunch option. If you go, get the fish tacos and fries. The fish tacos were SO. GOOD! Like, so good.

We spent hours relaxing by (and in) the pool. In addition to our drinks, staff came through periodically with treats. Like this mango popsicle. I’m sure I ate more of these than the average guest. I’m okay with that.

One night they had a buffet-style barbecue dinner by the beach.

Listen. Sitting on the sand for an outdoor barbecue was a highlight of our stay. We were served everything from roasted vegetables (YUM!!!!)  to unlimited beef, lamb and chicken. There was also pork.

By dessert time I was too stuffed to indulge in my typical sweet tooth fashion.

At dinner we enjoyed getting to know some of the other guests. They ranged from couples on their honeymoon to people celebrating anniversaries to others traveling for business, or just because.

Overall, I can’t say enough good things about our stay. The staff, our butler, our room, the food?! It was all top-notch. I can’t wait for my next visit.

A few other things to note:

Enjoy!
